Default File exists

How would i check to see if a file exists on a remote server. This is what i have and i it does not work on remote servers. All I want to do is to be able to check if a file is there or not. I don't need to open, edit, or delete it. Thanks for any of your thoughts
paul

<%
Set fs = Server.CreateObject( "Scripting.FileSystemObject" )
IF fs.FileExists( "" ) THEN
Response.Write "File Exists!"
ELSE
Response.Write "File Doesn't Exist!"
END IF
%>

    Default Can't do with FSO

You could use the XmlHttp object from the Microsoft XML 4.0 parser
