I'm looking to use ACCESS 2k link tables to dump Outlook mailbox data into a database and then using ADO to move that data to a web page. Potentially, this empowers users to make announcements on the web by putting those announcements in an email and sending them to the mailbox. (its then sent to the database via the link table and, from there, to the web page via ADO). In order for this to work, the Outlook client should be loaded on the IIS so that the mailbox can be read.<BR>I'd like your opinion regarding security issues wrt this set up. Our server ops guy maintains that installing the Outlook client on IIS is universally a bad idea. I'm a programmer, nether server ops nor security and, so, I'm looking for more information.
