So....

I'm making the big switch from ASP to ASP.NET and I'm running into bumps along the way. Maybe someone can help me out here...

In ASP, I would do a SQL query to compare values when someone first came to the site. (i.e. no data was presented to them, it was all done on the page load and determined where they were going):

<-- all connection/sql code left out -->

userid = RS("userid")

If userid = authuserid Then
Response.Redirect "homepage.asp"
Elseif
Response.Redirect "config.asp"
End If

<-- End of example -->

Now, with ASP.NET, I'm left in the dark. I know how to do databinding to a datagrid, but how does one do something like the above? If recordsets are no longer the way to go, how can I
do something like the above?

Thanks.
