I'm using ASP to read from an Excel datasource. This is working fine to get static data, but the Excel worksheet is dynamic, and I need to make it recalculate some random values every time it's accessed. Anyone know of a way to make an Excel worksheet recalculate from ASP?

Currently, I'm accessing it as follows (which gets me the same data every time, without recalculating the random values):

----

Set conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")

con n.Open "DBQ=" & Server.MapPath("excel-data.xls") & ";" & _
"DRIVER={Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls)};"

Set rs = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")

rs.O pen "SELECT * FROM cues;", conn, _
adOpenStatic, adLockPessimistic
...

---

I also tried something along these lines:

Set objExcel = server.createobject("Excel.Application")
Set ws = objExcel.Workbooks.Open("excel-data.xls").Sheets("Sheet1")
objExcel.calculate
...

But this always gives me the error "Server object, ASP 0177 (0x800401F3)
Invalid ProgID".

Any help would be much appreciated!
