Default tile small gif in Netscape 4.7

    This is the code, I have a Class and an ID set but the gif image will not tile vertically. Any suggestions:

I have a cell with a class and then tried adding a class to the image but nothing works. Of course it works in IE but also needs to work in Net.

<td align="center" class="menult" id="menult"><img src="images/spacer.gif" width="3" height="20" hspace="0" vspace="0" class="diff" id="diff">

td.menult {
background: #FFFFFF url("images/nhes_menu4.gif") repeat-y;
}

#menult {
background-color:#ffffff;
background-image:url("images/nhes_menu4.gif");
background-repeat:repeat-y;

img.diff {
color:#ff0000;
}

#diff {
color:#ff0000;
}
I would think it's because of 4.7's limited support of style sheets, perhaps you can just use the <td background=src.gif> without using css, this will tile the gif by default.
