Default JavaScript or VBscript function

I am working on a report for a web application based on an SQL server. The SQL server stores client application information. Each application has a unique id. Anyway, my report displays the entered id's info. I have functions to display each little bit of it. In the main info, I got some dates which are connected to the appointments, now every time some one changes the dates, I want to delete the row (from the table in SQL) containing the old appointments and add a new row of appointments (calculated again) and reload the report page.

That file is called mainInfo.asp
So, I have a text field with the dates and an onChange() property. I can't use a JavaScript function to do the database changes, can I ? Do I have to call a VB subroutine? or a VB function? Help! I am a newbie at programming so, detailed explanation would be very much appreciated!!
Thanks
