Just for your information. XP registers your Product key with microsoft, so if you try to install XP on another machine it won't let you as that particular product key had already been registered. <BR><BR>The only versions that don't check the product key with Microsoft are the corporate editions of their software. <BR><BR>So either get one of them or buy another copy.
I was installing XP's on 15 different machines in our office (all 15 were paid for). By accident, I installed it on one of the machines and then reformatted a drive and installed another one. So now I wanna know which one of the 15 it was. I didnt register yet so I think I can reuse it. So, IS IT POSSIBLE OR NOT ? (I mean to find a product key). PLEASE HELP !!!
... opening c:windowssystem32$winnt$.inf in notepad.. your key *MAY* be in there... on some machines it is, on others it isnt...<BR><BR>short of that, just search on google.. thats how i found the above...<BR><BR>g-luck
.. i got this tool from:<BR><BR>http://www.magicaljellybean.com/<BR><BR>.. called keyfinder.exe <BR><BR>its a free tool that tells you the cdkey of the computer.. you cant change the key its read-only..<BR>
