    Default SQL 2000 Backup Help

Hello. I am pretty new to SQL administration and need a little help. Can someone give me a comprehensive overview of SQL backups? I created 2 backup devices and added 6 different backups, 3 backups for each device (Diff, FULL and TRANS). What I am not sure about is the scenario that if the database becomes corrupt at 6PM tonight and I need to recover to a given point, how do I do this? Do I have to run a Transaction log backup or does the SQL server automaticall append data to a file that can restored at any point? Any SQL backup suggestions would be welcome. TIA!<BR><BR>-Jessie
