## Want to work for MS....

Get ready for the interview....

Some of the questions that they ask:

http://www.sellsbrothers.com/fun/msiview/default.aspx?content=question.htm

Some of 'em are fun....Some of 'em made my brain hurt.

## And which ones...

...fall into which category?

Any of the riddles give you problems?

[And, by the way, many manhole covers are *not* round. Making a round cover with hinges is a silly idea.]

## No...

The riddles were fine. They were the fun ones. The algorithms were the ones that made my brain hurt...Mainly becuase I don't have enough of a math/programming background to know what they were talking about without looking them up.

Oh well.

## To illustrate.

>Write a function to print the Fibonacci numbers.

I distinctly remember learning about Fibonacci numbers in elementary school. I do *not* distinctly remember forgetting what they were, but it sure enough happened at some point along the way.

## Well I looked them up.

Huh. They were in the logic test that I had to take for my current job...I had just forgotten what they were called.

The function turned out to be easy to write. At least a hack version.

## Fibonachi sequences.

1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13...

n(x+2) = n(x) + n(x+1)

(imagine bracket bits are subscript). You have two start values and it just goes and goes and goes...

Used mainly to describe natural sequences - patterns of sunflower seeds, that kinda thing...

Craig.

## Yep...Rabbit procreation, originally.

In 1202, I think I read.

Easy enough, once you know what it is. <Grin />

1) A manhole is the access shaft that runs from the street down to the sewer underground.

2) Well that's the riddle :)
