Ok, I've used SQL so long I forgot how to use access. I have to do a date filter on a text column that only has dates in m/yy format, and so I'm going to loop through and make sure that the month and year work with the parameters given. Speed isn't a necessity here so don't worry about that.

SELECT etd
FROM [Assignments Report] where [Assignments Report].etd <> '' and [Assignments Report].etd <> '0/00'
and
Left(etd,Len(etd) - 3) <> '1'

I'm trying to pull all the dates with out the month of 1(january) but it doesn't work. Access returns all the rows then pops up a error (data type mismatch in criteria expression). What am I doing wrong. This happens in ASP as well but displays all the rows. I've never seen something like this before any suggestions?
