Default Ado Recordset

I never usually have to deal with anything like this as usually i use arrays, but can someone tell me how, when i have a recordse, i can move to a particular record?

I'm using a client-side cursor (I'm actually doing this in VB), and i want to find the record whose primary key (colId) is, for example, "12345".

is there anyway to do this without starting at BOF and moving through the recordset testing for the condition??

cheers

cp

Default So just select that record then

    select *
from table
where colID = 12345

Default That was my first thought too

If you have to find it in a recordset(with multiple records), I think you're stuck moving through the recordset and testing each value until it matches yours.

Pretty much the same way you would with an array too.
