Default Getting a username, without "LOGON_USER"

    hi

i&#039m trying to find out if there&#039s a way to find out someone&#039s username, not from the IIS, but from their regular NT LAN server login, as we don&#039t want to prompt users for an authentication password when they access the IIS. (which forces us to give anonymous access, and renders the "LOGON_USER" variable useless.)

any ideas appreciated

Steve

If everyone is logging into NT, you should be able to use NT Challenge/Response for the authentication. This will give you the LOGIN_USER variable back.
