Default Script timeout with a text area....

I have a text area on my report that a user can enter in any text that they want. Here is the problem, if the user types something in the textarea that varies from a few paragraphs to a few pages, and click save they get this error:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80040E31)
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Timeout expired

It is on the recordset update. But here is the weird part, if they copy the text they enter in the textarea and paste it into a notepad file, and then copy that notepad file and paste that into the text area, it works just fine. How can i fix this so that the user won't have to open the notepad, and the textarea will save what they type without timing out, or is there something else I could use besides textarea?
