What is best way to determine the number of records in a SQL table (I have tried objRS.EOF-1 but this doen't work). I have had a look at ASPFAQs but can't seem to find the answer.
if you want the "total" number of records in the table

SELECT rows FROM sysindexes WHERE id = OBJECT_ID('<table_name>') AND indid < 2
You are using a recordset object? It has a property "recordsetobject.RecordCount". The recordset object can not be forward only looking type though or else it will just return -1.
numer of records in table and number of records in a recordset are two diffent things
Yeah it was unclear to me but now he has both areas covered :)
