Default How do I update a Visual FoxPro database using ASP

    I have written an ASP script that should update a Visual FoxPro database. When I try to execute the script I get the following error message:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e37'

[Microsoft][ODBC Visual FoxPro Driver]File 'tmpforms.dbf' does not exist.

/ACSONLINE/Enroll.asp, line 238

However, my database does exist.

My connection string looks like this:

Set objConn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")

obj Conn.Open "Driver={Microsoft Visual FoxPro
Driver};SourceType=DBF;SourceDB=\servern ameacsonline mpforms.dbf;"

I place my form information into variables that I declared in the script. Then I do the following:

sql="INSERT INTO tmpforms (Coname,Sfnum,Division,Fpassword,
sql=sql & " VALUES "
sql=sql & "('" & strEmployerName & "','" & strSFNum & "','" & strDivision & "','" & strPassword & "')"

Then I execute the sql by doing this:

objConn.Execute sql

This is where I am getting the error. I have my script, html form page, and Visual FoxPro database located in the same folder on my server. Is this OK?

Is there some type of bug between ASP and Visual FoxPro? The reasonI ask is because I can get this code to work using an Access database. If there is a bug, how do I fix it?

Any help anyone can provide would be great.

Thanks!

Jai Douglas

Default Where did you get that connection???

    FoxPro isn't a DB server, like SQL Server is. It's much like Access, just a DLL that runs in process with ASP.

The connection string should look something like this:
