Hi, I'm in need of generating an "n" number of variables.

For example, how would i generatate apple1 then apple2 then apple 3.

thanks
errr dunno if this is what u mean but...

n=1
Do until n=x
Response.Write"Apple" & n
n=n+1
loop
can you put arrays in an array?

like say apple(1)=color(8), something like that?

what would be the proper syntax or where can i find it?

Thanks
I'd like to reference later the newly created variables. Response.write "Apple"&n writes it out like that, but I need to actually creat a variable that I can later reference.

But thanks
You can have multi-dimensional arrays, or (I believe, never done it in VB/VBScript) arrays of arrays.

This is basic programming - try www.learnasp.com or www.asp101.com, or maybe www.15seconds.com.

Craig.
then instead of response.write"Apple"&n

use Apple(n) = whatever
Then use a dictionary object. You can have a dictionary of dictionaries.

But... I'm pretty sure you can have an array of arrays, but I haven't tried it.
You can have an array of arrays.
