Default Short description using left()

    Ok, I'm about to start a personal website of my own with submissions of movie reviews, game reviews, book reviews, and probably some other odds and end reviews of interested people that like to review stuff. Anyway, I'm gonna drive the website with ASP.

I've worked on some short description stuff for EKU ResNet before ( and I have a slight problem with bringing up the left() of the entire description. If the description contains a link at the exact spot of where the left() cuts off, then it throws off the link to the full story. Any ideas as to how to fix this problem?

Thanks.

-Jon Bowling

    I guess
you could always use instr
to determine if there is a link, and then based on the location of that, find the end of it to use as the length of your
shortened description.
