    Default Storing MS SQL Databases On a NAS...

    Guys--<BR><BR>Can someone explain how I can create/store a database on an external storage device...<BR><BR>I found a KB article on explaining that the trace code 1807 has to be turned on to be able to store a db to a unc path...<BR><BR>However, when I run the following through query analyzer...<BR><BR>DBCC TRACEON (1807)<BR><BR>CREATE DATABASE CMS<BR>ON <BR>( NAME = CMS_Data,<BR> FILENAME = &#039;\stl-filesvr01sql serverdataCMS_Data.mdf&#039;,<BR> SIZE = 10,<BR> MAXSIZE = 50,<BR> FILEGROWTH = 5 )<BR>LOG ON<BR>( NAME = &#039;CMS_Log&#039;,<BR> FILENAME = &#039;\stl-filesvr01sql serverdataCMS_Log.ldf&#039;,<BR> SIZE = 5MB,<BR> MAXSIZE = 25MB,<BR> FILEGROWTH = 5MB )<BR><BR>I get the following error...<BR><BR>DBCC execution completed. If DBCC printed error messages, contact your system administrator.<BR>Server: Msg 5105, Level 16, State 2, Line 3<BR>Device activation error. The physical file name &#039;\stl-filesvr01sql serverdataCMS_Data.mdf&#039; may be incorrect.<BR>Server: Msg 1802, Level 16, State 1, Line 3<BR>CREATE DATABASE failed. Some file names listed could not be created. Check previous errors.<BR><BR>Any help would be great..!
