ASP.NET can currently be run on something other than an ISS Server. 6 months ago I noticed a lot of their webpages were .aspx pages.

IS it possible to run .NET on a non-MS Server? I honestly don't know.

.. of the CLR to other operating systems.

I know there were links a while back to it.

I forget what it was called, though.

Heh. Not much help, am I? No wonder I shouldn't post to the board.
Relating to a outside vender that ran/hosted part of (both, I believe) MSN.com and Hotmail.com a few years back. Don't know if it's still the case or not.
Never had to do with MS internal systems, or Microsoft.com.
when MS first bought Hotmail there was some uproar because Hotmail ran unix (BSD, i believe) and when the MSFT engineers got on the job they made the reccomondation not to transition them to Win/IIS for a while. This was becuase they felt Hotmail's technology was superior then their own at that time.
Hotmail was an aquisition, it ran on non MS software and the migration to MS software was neither quick nor painless.
Various marketing (and related) sites about or for MS have been on non MS systems.
If they had to pay for Erkel they wouldn't be makin as much money.
Wasn't MS working/developing completely on a unix OS until after they released Win 3.2?
