    Default Connecting to an SQL-DB

    Hi.<BR><BR>Until now I have used Access to make databases, but now im looking at SQL. I have installed M$ SQL 7 and my question is:<BR><BR>Is it possible to connect to an SQL database FILE like you can with access? Like this:<BR>Dconn.Open "driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};dbq="C:AccessDB.mdb"<BR><BR>Or do you have to go throught the MS SQL-server?

    According to what I&#039ve read, the preferred way to connect to an SQL Server 7 DB is using OLE DB. This is a typical OLE DB connection string:<BR>ConnObj.Open "PROVIDER=SQLOLEDB;DATA SOURCE=TheNameOfYourSQLServer7Machine;UID=YourUID; PWD=YourPWD;DATABASE=YourDatabaseName"<BR><BR>
