Default Timeout issues

I'm getting more frequently a "Timeout expired" message on queries that used to work fine. Does it have to do something with the growing size of my database? What can I do to get these queries working again?

    Default Indexing?

Are you indexing your tables? Have you defined a primary key?
Are you using something other than the indexed fields as selection criteria in your queries?

Check the indexes would be one thing to try.

Default and if you already have indexed

you MAY want to look at DBCC INDEXDEFRAG and DBCC REINDEX

of course this is only if you are using MS SQL Server
