There isn't a "safe" way. Especially (and sorry if this offends you) when the DBA has limited skill. <BR><BR>You should go back and instruct your client that it's a baaad idea. If they persist, then you should subcontract a skilled DBA or suggest to your client that they do so. <BR><BR>People's credit card numbers are like gold... and there's zero room for screw-up.
