I open a (Access via ODBC) database, and fill out a form that the user can alter. But when I try:
rs("FieldName") = "FieldValue"
I get the ugly error:

ADODB.Field error &#039 800a0cb3&#039
The operation requested by the application is not supported
by the provider.

It may be worth noting that I am not using the "NextRecordset" Method, which is what MSDN seems to think I am doing. Thanks.
-Jon H.

If you are trying to dump field values into a form, you can either put the values into variables first:
myvar = rs("name") and use the variable for display,
or use the recordset itself:
<input type="text" name="fname" value="<%= rs("first_name") %>">
<input type="text" name="lname" value="<%= rs("last_name") %>">
This dumps the value into a textbox for you.

HTH,
Ariane
