Default LOGON_USER

    I can not get the current user via Request.ServerVariables("LOGON_USER") command in my ASP.

What can be the reason or is there anyone who met the same situation before? I am using IIS 4.0 Web Server on an NT 4.0 machine with a SP 5.0. I can get any other ServerVariables except for LOGON_USER. Interesting anyway...

Thanks.

    I&#039m no expert on this, but try...

If request.servervariables("LOGON_USER") = "" Then
response.status = "401 Unauthorized"
End If

...before the request.servervariables("LOGON_USER")

    From my experience you need to authenticate the user to grab their domainusername.

This can be done using Challenge Response or Basic Authentication.

    I have chosen only Challenge Response and everything became wonderful. Now I can get the current user. Thanks for every response.
