Default Load ASP result into a varible for parsing.

Has anyone done something like this? (FYI, I know this is not the correct syntax.)

<& varTemp = Request.URL("http://www.anywhere.com/stats.txt")

I would then parse string, and INSERT/UPDATE the data into a database with only ASP.

Background
I have a fantasy baseball dB that I keep up to date with data from Yahoo! I am currently doing this with a VB ActiveX control that I created. It uses the Internet Transfer Control (SP2) to get the web page, then VB parses it, and updates the dB with a stored proc.

Thanks in advance,
Rob

You can do this with ASP. You need to use a third-party component, though, that will allow for retrieving information off other webservers through HTTP POSTs/GETs. See:

Grabbing Information from Other Servers
http://4guysfromrolla.com/webtech/071199-1.shtml

for more information on a free third-party component that will help you accomplish this. Happy programming! :)
