Hi all, i just started playing around with I am confused on all the ways you can get data from a database. I would like to know what are the differences between all of them. Under the data tab, there is sqldataadapter, sqlconnection, and sqlcommand. Which one is the best way to connect to a sql server 7 database.

it is not a question of one or the other, it is a question of combining those that you need. they each do different things.<BR><BR>the connection object opens the connection. the dataadapter lets you talk to the sql database using syntax. the command object sends commands through the connection in concert with the dataadapter. you really need to read articles and books on the subject. and also, all the classes are documented at the msdn web site.<BR><BR>does this help? if it does, i would appreciate some help on my own currently open topic, which you can read at:<BR>
