    I&#039d like to know if there&#039s any way to do the following:<BR><BR>Let&#039s say I have a database with fields for "future date" and "status"<BR><BR>as long as the date is in the future, the status is "waiting"<BR>as soon as the actual date passes the date in the database, the status should change to "expired" automaticaly.<BR><BR>Any ideas on how to accomplish this?<BR><BR><BR>Thanks a lot,<BR><BR>Alex

    You&#039re actually violating a database rule - Anything that can be computed from values already in the database should not be kept in the database. Whenever you need to use the value of "status" in your code, it should be computed from the value of "future date".
