    Default Problem with SQL string

    Hello guys, <BR>I have a problem with a SQL string. Here it is.<BR>I use the SQL string "select left(school_code ,2) from Title", in order to extract the first two letters, of the field code. In SQL Server Query analyzer it works fine. But when I am trying to do exactly the same in an ASP page I get the followinf error :<BR><BR>ADODB.Fields error &#039 800a0cc1&#039 <BR>ADO could not find the object in the collection corresponding to the name or ordinal reference requested by the application. <BR><BR>Can anybody help ?<BR><BR>Thank you<BR>

    Try:<BR><BR>"SELECT substr(school_code,1,2) FROM Title"<BR><BR>That Should Work...<BR><BR>substr(string to search, start position, length)<BR><BR>Jesse
