Default Testing URLs with ASP

I have a web page that I allow users to add their links to using ASP and ADO to keep track of the links. I want to test these links when the user submits the form and before it is entered into the database. Is there a way to do this using ASP?

I have something like this on my unix server written in PERL and it works great. But I want to have the same thing on the ASP system. I am running PWS as my server.

Really the only way to do this is to issue a GET request to ensure that it returns a web page (or something). You could create your own to do it, or use a commercial one like Steve Genusa&#039s AspHTTP--http://www.serverobjects.com/products.htm#Asphttp.

Regards,

Todd

Use an on error resume next, followed by a:

on error resume next
window.open(s_URL)
if err<>0 Then b_BadURL=True
