Hello all,
I am in need of making some ASP reports and they need to be able to print out like an Access report would, keeping records together on each page. Is there any way I can do this with ASP?
How would the records *not* be kept together???

Or are you simply talking about inserting page breaks at appropriate spots during the printing process?

If so, that's an ASPFAQ. The link to the ASPFAQs is at the top right corner of every page on this site.

There are two relevant FAQs in the category name "The Nature of Things".

I am asking how to keep records together. I know I can set the page to break, but if I set it to hold 5 records per page and the 5th record is to big of the page to hold it will the off set the printing.
...the use of "auto" for "page break before" is enough?

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/workshop/author/dhtml/reference/properties/pagebreakbefore.asp

If you put each "record" into a
and use the "auto" page break, would that tell the browser to keep the entire
as a unit?

Dunno.

I presume by this that your "records" have variable numbers of lines, else you could just count records, yes?

Could you count lines, instead? Or are you depending on the browser to put in appropriate line breaks for you?

The record can have anything from 1 line to 100+ lines so I know that I can not always keep it together. But if 1 record can fit on one page, that is what I want. Like it dose in an access report. Ill try the
and see but I am not sure if this is what I am looking for.

Thank you for your help.
