I have a form that has two buttons one of the buttons allows a user to upload an image and view it on the page. In order to keep it from validating the form I turned the causes validation off. I validate the image extension is jpg or gif in the code behind.

Then the user presses the other button it does the other form validation and finishes the transaction.

All of this works fine in IE but, for some reason in NS 6 the code behind validation is returning false; the file is not "gif" or "jpg" even when it is. I thought the code behind was independent of the browser. Doesn’t it go to the server check the validation and return a success/failure?

Thanks in advance for any ideas you have.
