Default Cannot create activex object

    I am trying to create an excel sheet on the server side. I have written the following code.

Dim oExcel As Object
Dim oBook As Object
Dim oSheet As Object
'Start a new workbook in Excel.
oExcel = CreateObject("Excel.Application")

But when i run the page i am getting an error that 'Cannot create activex object'

I am not using VisualStudio.Net(i am using notepad). So i can not set a reference to MSExcel in the project. Is there any way to set the reference to MSExcel in the aspx page itself. Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers

    When using COM from .Net and Visual Studio, VS does some work under the covers.

There are command line tools to do it but your best bet is to look on MSDN (search) for the words : com from .net
You will get several usefull links.

There is also an article on the home page about word and .Net which might give you some clues.
