How do you preload / cache images that are generated from a CGI script. It seems as if Internet Explorer doesnt preload these type of images if you use scripting (i.e. image.src=....).

I have tried the following: 2 frames. 1st frame preloads 5 images via javascript. Then, each time you refresh the 2nd frame, it should use the image from the 1st frame (i.e. setting image.src of the new images equal to one of the buffered ones.) However, it seems as if doing this only transfers the actual URL of the CGI images, not the actual image, which causes the image to be loaded exactly the same speed as if you were loading it directly with a <IMG> tag.

Any ideas?
