Default How are they doing this??

This company provides free websites to leagues. You join for free and can pick your URL to be: www.leaguelineup.com/WHATEVERYOUPICK

For example:
http://www.leaguelineup.com/sharks
http://www.leaguelineup.com/hawks
http://www.leaguelineup.com/bears

If you enter the URL's above then you are pushed to:
http://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=sharks
http://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=hawks
http://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=bears

I was thinking that maybe when each member joins, that a directory is created using the FileSystemObject with a default page that redirects you outside the directory to welcome.asp. That would mean though that if you had 400 members that you would have 400 directories and 400 default.asp pages.

Do you think this can be done another way?

Ashley

You could do it with a custom 404 page that parsed the Url and did a Server.Transfer to the appropriate Url.

400 default.asp pages aren't bad if they only have 1 include line. This is probably what they are doing. Or, like the previous poster said, parsing the URL and using that in a custom error page.
~~Chaotix
