    Default ASP.NET Session Management

hi, if I were to have a value need to be shared across the whole user session.. Is it the best way that I use session variable? Is there any other new method in ASP.NET can be used so that I won't lost my value because of losing the session? Thanks.

You have 3 obvious choices and then many variations and combinations from those.<BR><BR>1) Store the value in a Session() variable.<BR><BR>2) Store the value in a cookie in the client browser.<BR><BR>3) Store the value in a database.<BR><BR>All three of these methods require cookies, but .NET introduces a cookieless session where an ID is prepended to every page request. But this still has an expiration associated with it.<BR><BR>Cookies have an expire date as well. You can read up on these methods at:
