Why does excel default to scientific notation when it's fed a number such as 1999E0001. I have a page that I convert to excel (Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel") and some of our numbers for documents have an E in them. I get 1.99E+04 from the above value. When I change it to General or Numeric the true "number" is lost. I'm not sure what to do with this one.<BR>Anybody ever deal with this one.
