Hello Roy,
I already posted this question and have kept investigating. I can't get an insert query to work in ASP, while the query text, as outputed works fine in Access. I have tried various combinations: it just doesn't seem to insert the user name from a session variable into the user text field. I've even tried with a simple and foolproof insert behaviour in Dreamweaver, with just 2 fields, one with the user name stuck into a hidden form field. I've used the get method so that I could see that the user name, which was there in the URL bar. I even copied the response write output into Access and there again it was working. I just can't think of anything else. The user text field in the db table is totally standard, with the default settings and it is in text format.
