I have at least 80 controls on a form so I do not want to include the validation controls in the web page because the page would be cluttered. So, I want to creat my controls on the back in instead of embedding into a aspx page.

The code is below. Will this work? Is it a good idea?

private void Page_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
regUserName = new RegularExpressionValidator();
regUserName.Contr olToValidate="txtUserName"
regUserName.Text ="Must be 2 to 10 characters long"
regUserName.ValidationExpression = "^[a-zA-Z](.{1,9})$"
regUserName.ErrorMessage = "User name format was incorrect."
}
