I saw a similiar question, a few posts down. Because it was still unanswered, I took the liberty of posting mine.

Problem is this:
1> Clients in intranet (maybe internet too) have PocketPC having data in access db
2> Server has data on an Oracle DB
3> Clients need to "Upload" or "Download" data to and fro

I wrote a VB6.0 activeX that reads the PocketPC data and writes to the Oracle DB or Access DB as needed. But then they revised the requirement that clients could be on the internet too so "Oracle Client" (which is needed for Client Oracle connections) would not be guaranteed.

I am falling short of ideas. I basically need a way to read the client data (which is now in the activeX control) on to the server or back.

I thought of creating a file on the client (users will be employees on internet/intranet so that can be permitted) and FTPing it on the server or back. Any better ideas?

Thanks for your time.
