Default maintaining scroll state

    Hello there,

I'd like to maintain the scroll state of the web browser when I'm posting back to the page, since the page is large and the user will get frustrated if he has to rescroll down everytime he hits a button. I've tried using the page directive "smart navigation", but it didn't appear to affect anything at all. Is there another way to do this, such as saving the scroll state and settings it manually on each page_load?

thanks
-chuck

    Default how did you set smartnavigation?

    Did you try
smart navigation = true
or
SmartNavigation="True"

I think you also need to change your web.config file.

The alternative is to use

Where "SOMENAME" is the name of an anchor tag on your page

<a name="SOMENAME" >Scroll to here</a>

But this is hard to implement with postbacks... You would have to append this to the <body onload='document.location.href="#SOMETHING"&# 039;> or something like that.
