Default See Thru BackGround Color

Is it possible to create a see thru background color in a table?
I want the backcolor of the table to be lavender. This table is place over an image using the absolute property of CSS. The part of image then appears to be seen thru a square lavender transparent glass - this is what I am trying to achieve. Any ideas?

Default Not easy

You could work it using a background image that *appears" to be the color you are looking for by combining lotso dots with colors. One of those dot colors could be the transparent color. Then use it as a background image for the table. However...

Why the heck don't you use a graphics program to create the effect that you want and set the image as the background of the table?
