What do you wish to do with those distinct dates? Aggregate? Just select records from a specific date?

An example of the latter

select * from ogrish where datediff('d',now(),dateColumn) = 0

Some sample data and the expected result is always useful.
Found my answer, really quite interesting. Access stores date/times and a dbl... everything before the decimal is the date, after the decimal is the time... so doing this...

SELECT DISTINCT (cvdate(int(dtmSubmitDate))) FROM whatsnew;

gives me what i want... Thanks for the response though
