I have a a javascript that writes a cookie when the visitor first vists our site.

If there is no cookie, it writes a cookie and sends them to the splash. On next visit, it reads the cookie and sends them to the index.

But if someone has cookies disabled, the splash page turns into an endless loop.

How can I tell the script to quit or escape or end if it cannot write a cookie?

I tried this, but it continues with the script, anyway:

var nocooky = getCookie("COOKIE NAME")
if(!nocooky)
location = "index.htm"
