Default Server.CreateObject ("Excel.Application")

    When I run this command on the IIS server I get error Cannot Launch out of process component. Can I launch excel on the
server or must it be on the client. What I want to do is manipulate the cells of an xls file that resides on the server.
Thanks.

    Default Use the Jet provider and regular

    old ADO to manipulate your Excel data.

Here is a sample connection string:

strConn = "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=c:yourpath/yourspreadsheet.xls;Extended Properties=Excel 8.0;HDR=No;"

You can remove 'HDR=No;' if you have column headers.

Then you can execute normal SQL SELECT statements except you use the sheet name like:

SELECT * FROM [Sheet1$]

You can even select from a specific range.

Good luck
Pete
