when I try to upload a file using the MS posting acceptor I am prompted with a UserID/Psswd box. Why is this? Is there a way to avoid this?

I guess I&#039m one step behind you. I was looking for a component to do file uploads. Does the MS Posting Acceptor come with IIS 4?

As to your questions, are you sure the permissions are properly set on the target directory?

Thanks,
Bill

    Hi

I&#039ve dealt with most of your problems.. so here goes for some answers.
1. The posting acceptor ver 1.1 is part on the option pack 4

2. The user/id prompt is part of the NT challenge response. You can disable this by allowing anonymous access. Obviously use with caution. The solution to allowing anonymous access is documented in the microsoft knowledge base article Q179566.

Hope this helps
