I have a mapping application (GIS) that holds several thousand address/phone records. I need to be able to grab anywhere from 10,000 to a million records at a time to put in SQl server based system for emergency response notifications (reverse 911).

Speed is of the absolute importance for this application.

There is a limit to how may parameters you can have in a stored procedure, so i can only pass about a thousand phone numbers per hit against the SQL server db. Doing this recursively when grabbing a million records or takes way to long.

I started looking at the idea of getting a count of the total number of records that would be grabbed (i can count them all in a single hit to the gis), and tried creating a small iframe (or layer for netscape) for each group of 1000 recs.

Problem is the browser only seems to want to load one iframe at a time. (The 2ndone won't load until the 1st has completely finished, the 3rd waits for the 2nd to finish etc)

Questions:
Is there a way of running multiple iframes concurrently or is it something I am just stuck with?

Would opening a new window for each group of a 1000 suffer the same sort of delay?
