Default DB 'sharing'

I have 2 Win2k IIS servers. Server 1 hosts a small site that queries an Access db for user authentication - (using DSN connection).
Server 2 hosts a large site that is used by the same users as the site on server 1. How can I 'share' the Access DB on server 1 so I can use it with the site on server 2?
I've shared the directory and mapped it as a network drive on Server 2. I can open and edit the DB on both servers and I've tried both a DSN connection and a DSN-less connection. The DSN connection gives me the following error:
The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '(unknown)'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.

The DSN-less connection gives me this error:
Data source name not found and no default driver specified

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Wally.

Its a common problem, see the info here should help (short version : if using UNC try using a mapped drive, otherwise check your NT perms)

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q306269

regards,

Dave Kawliche
http://AccessHelp.net
http://1ClickDB.com
