    Default Beginner problem...

    Having a problem...<BR><BR>Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error &#039;80040e14&#039;<BR><BR>[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error in FROM clause. <BR><BR>The line this occurs on is the .Execute statement, and here it is:<BR><BR><BR>query = "SELECT date, type, public, body FROM update" <BR>Set RS = connection.Execute(query) <BR><BR><BR>date: date <BR>type: text <BR>public: boolean<BR>body: memo<BR><BR>Using Access and ASP (not<BR><BR>Why is this causing that error? it seems fine to me...

    try this<BR><BR>query = "SELECT [date], [type], [public], [body] FROM [update]" <BR>Set RS = connection.Execute(query)<BR><BR>i&#039;m not sure but most probably the error occurs because you are using words that are keys. You should avoid using names like "date" or "type" or "public" etc....<BR>use words that should not be keys.<BR>You can use the brackets to specify that those are fields and tables.<BR>
