Default SQL Reversing Name String

I have a table which has names displayed as lastname, firstname (i.e. Smith, Joe), but I need the names to be displayed as firstname<space>lastname (i.e. Joe Smith).

Thanks.

Default Ok I won't scold you too

bad for putting lastname and firstname in one column ; )

Seriously though, IMHO this is bad db design. However, if you want to display it with the reversed order look into using string functions like Mid, Substr, Instr, etc. in your SQL SELECT statement. Look up string functions in your db help.

Now something else to think about. Do you have any names additional names or middle intials in db like

Smith, Mary Jo

or

Jones, John J.

Good luck

Pete
