    Default Arranging Records by Date

i need to arrange records by date. Does anyone know if there is a way to add the record into the appropriate spot in the database(ACCESS) when the user submits it, OR if there is just a way to re-arrange the recordset the next time you open the database according to the value in the the 'date' field so that the record with the earliest date is first and the record with the date that's the furthest away is last? It seems like there should be an easy way to do this, but i've been trying to find one for days and had no luck. I was able to do it by making a huge sloppy mess of code that has lots of loops and stuff, but i want to do it right.
